Add Binary Files for Theme Apps

You can register, change, and delete binary files, and review device compatibility and set distribution devices for your Theme apps (themes, wallpapers, icon packs, and AODs).

Note: You must belong to the Samsung Theme Partnership program before you can develop and register Samsung Themes apps. See Get a Theme Service Partnership Account for more information.

Binary Files

You can upload and manage your Theme app binary files generated by the Samsung Mobile Theme Editor.

Ensure that all binary files meet the following requirements:

  • Filenames must not contain spaces or special characters; however, they can contain underscores.

Device Compatibility and Distribution

You can review which user devices(phone, tablet, and other types of devices) are compatible with each registered app binary file, set compatible devices as distribution devices, and review why other user devices are not compatible.

After registering one or more binary files, all compatible devices are listed and selected (checkmarked). At any time, you can unselect and reselect devices for each registered binary file. You can also determine which features of non-compatible devices are supported and not supported by your registered binary files.

You can control which users can download your app. Your app will not be available for download to users who do not have a distribution device that you specify. When a user does have a distribution device, whether or not they can download your app is also controlled by other factors (including whether the user is in a distribution country that you selected).

You can select your app's distribution devices from among all devices that are compatible with your app's binary files. Different binary files can be compatible with different devices. Device compatibility is determined by the features supported by a device and the Galaxy Watch resolution settings you specified for a binary file.

To manage device compatibility and distribution

  1. Next to Selected Device(s), click the [total number of distribution devices].

Note: Upon initial display, the popup shows the current status of each device.
