Paid Android App Coupons

You can promote your paid Android apps by having Samsung generate coupon codes and sending them to potential customers, who redeem them to download your paid app for free.

You can generate up to 5,000 coupon codes (also referred to as vouchers) for each paid Android app that is normally distributed in the Galaxy Apps store. You manage the distribution of the coupon codes to your potential customers. When a coupon code is redeemed, the customer can download your paid app for free.

Coupon code generation

  • Your paid Android app:
    • Must be in the 'For Sale' state.
    • Must not have an 'Updating' submission.
    • Must not have a discount in the 'Waiting' or 'OnGoing' states.

  • You specify the number of coupons for one or more app distribution countries.
  • You can generate up to 5,000 coupons for all distribution countries.
  • Any time your app has fewer than 5,000 'Waiting' and 'Usable' coupons for all distribution countries, you can generate new coupons for any  distribution country, whether or not it currently has coupons.
  • You specify the start date (any time after the current date) and end date (up to 28 days after the start date) when generated coupons can be redeemed.
  • During the generation waiting period (typically 24 hours), the coupon codes are in the 'Waiting' status.

Coupon distribution to customers

  • You must manage sending coupon codes to your customers (for example, in your marketing emails).
  • You must provide customers with information about how to redeem a coupon and that it enables free download.
Note: To redeem coupons, customers must have an Android device and a Samsung account with a credit card registered to the account. However, the credit card will not be charged.

Coupon redemption

  • Each coupon code is valid and can be redeemed when the following conditions are met:
    • After the generation waiting period (typically 24 hours, when the coupon moves into the 'Usable' status).
    • At the time of redemption:
      • The coupon is in the 'Usable' status.
      • The redeeming customer is in the coupon's country.

  • Each issued coupon code becomes invalid after it has been redeemed one time.
  • All of the app's issued coupon codes become invalid:
    • After the coupons' end date.
    • After you or Samsung suspend or terminate the coupons' app.
    • After you update the coupons' app by adding or deleting distribution countries, or by making it a free app .
    • After you change the coupon's app from a paid app to a free app.
    • After Samsung or you end your Seller Office account.

  • Issued coupon codes do not become invalid:
    • When you have new coupons issued.
    • When you update the coupons' app by changing its price in one or more distribution countries.
