Register a Single In-App Item

How to register in-app items one-at-a-time to your Gear IAP integrated Galaxy Watch app

 

You can individually register a consumable, non-consumable, and auto-recurring subscription in-app item before your app has been submitted for validation or after it has passed or failed validation.

After registering :

  • Each updated item will take effect either:
    • Immediately when the item is not being purchased by any end-users.
    • 30 seconds later when the item is being purchased by any end-users.
       
  • For each item:
    • You can change title, description, and standard price.
    • You can set local prices and phone bill payment for each distribution country.
    • You cannot change ID or type.
       
  • You can delete an item.

To register one in-app item for an app:

  • You must have a commercial Seller Office account.
  • Ensure your in-app items meet all applicable Samsung policies and requirements.
  • Ensure that your Gear app has successfully integrated Gear IAP functionality.

  • Ensure that your app:
    • Is either partially or fully registered.
    • Binary file(s) have been registered.
    • Has 'Registering',  'For Sale', or 'Updating' status. 
       
  • Caution: After saving  item registration information, the following values cannot be changed: item ID, item type, and standard price. However, you can delete the item and register a new item with a new values.
     
  • During the procedure:
    • After some actions, a popup is displayed  that requires clicking a button (such as OK). Popup steps are not indicated.
    • To see help text, hover the mouse over a field's Comments icon Comments_Icon.png, click Show Tip: On (info tips for all fields), or toggle-click an individual field's Info Tip icon Info_Icon.png .
       
  1. Log in to your Samsung Seller Office commercial seller account.
  2. Select your app and prepare to register a new in-app item.
    1. In the menu bar, click Applications > My applications

    2. In the My Applications page:
      1. Locate your app.
      2. If your app has not been submitted for validation, click your app's Registering or Re-registering.

      3. If your app has been approved for distribution, click your app's Update or Updating.

      4. In the application page, click the In App Purchase tab. and Add Item

  3. Register the in-app item.
    Note: Enter all information in English.

    1. For all types of in-app items, enter or update the following:

      Item ID *

      Identifier (up to 130 bytes) that you assign to the in-app item (English letters, numbers, and certain special characters [period, dash, and underscore]) that is unique among all item IDs in the item group

      After entering a proposed ID, click Check
       If a notice is displayed, click OK and enter and check a different ID.

      Caution: The item ID cannot be changed after you click 'Save' (step 4.c. below).

      Item Title *

      Name of the in-app item (English letters, Korean letters, numbers, spaces, and certain special characters  [period, dash, and underscore], up to 100 bytes) unique among all item names in the item group

      Users can see the item title in the Samsung Unified Payment window when they purchase the in-app item.

      Item Type *

      Kind of in-app item

      Usage and purchase functionality can depend on the current IAP operating mode, and the version of IAP integrated.

      The list below contains a summary of item functionality.

      Caution: The item type cannot be changed after you click 'Save' (step 4.c. below).

      Item

      The in-app item is either:

      • A consumable item when you checkmark 'This item can be purchased multiple times'.
      • A non-consumable item when you do not checkmark 'This item...'.

      Consumable

      The in-app item (such as fuel and bullets in game apps) remains available to the user until they use it one time, after which it cannot be used again. 

      In all IAP operating modes, the item can be initially purchased, but cannot be purchased again until the item has been reported as consumed. After that, it can be purchased again. 

       

      Non-consumable

      The in-app item (such as fuel and bullets in game apps) remains available to the user and can be used any number of times. 

      In all IAP operating modes, the item can be initially purchased, but cannot be purchased again. 

      Subscription

      Auto-recurring subscription

      The in-app item's subscription remains current for its specified time period, during which the user receives subscription components (such as newsletters, vouchers, and books). After the subscription expires, it is automatically repurchased and renewed.

      Subscription items can offer an initial free trial period (7 to 999 days).

       



       
    2. For consumable and non-consumable in-app items, enter or update the following:

      This item can be purchased multiple times.

      • To specify a consumable in-app item, click the [Checkbox].
      • To specify a non-consumable in-app item, do not click the checkbox.
         

      Description *   

      Brief explanation of the item (up to 1000 bytes)
       

      Price *

      The standard price (400 or less in United States of America dollars, up to 5 digits) that users must pay to get the in-app item

      Available value formats:

      • 1 decimal place: #.#,  ##.#,  ###.#,  ####.#
      • 2 decimal places: #.##,  ##.##,  ###.##
      • 3 decimal places: #.###,  ##.###
      • 4 decimal places: #.####
         

       

      After entering a value, click Apply.

      Caution: The standard price cannot be changed after you click 'Save' (step 4.c. below).



       
    3. For auto-recurring subscription in-app items, enter or update the following:

      Payment Cycle *

      Time period (1 calendar month) that the item subscription is active from the purchase date (when there is no free trial period) or from the date that the free trial period ends

       

      Free Trial Period

      Number of days (7 to 999) the subscription is active before the user pays, after which the user pays and the subscription payment cycle starts
       

      Description *    Brief explanation of the item (up to 1000 bytes)
       

      Price * 

       

      The standard price (greater than 0 and 400 or less in United States of America dollars, up to 5 digits) that users must pay to get the in-app item

      Available value formats:

      • 1 decimal place: #.#,  ##.#,  ###.#,  ####.#
      • 2 decimal places: #.##,  ##.##,  ###.##
      • 3 decimal places: #.###,  ##.###
      • 4 decimal places: #.####
         

      After entering a value, click Apply.

      Caution: The standard price cannot be changed after you click 'Save' (step 4.c. below).



       
    4. To set in-app item prices and/or payment options for specific countries that the item's app is being distributed to:
      Note: For each country, you can either enable or not enable user payment using their phone bill, and either accept the default local price or set another local price.
      For more details, see Distribution Countries and Restrictions.
       
      1. To enable phone bill payment for users in one or more distribution countries:
        1. Checkmark Payment Method: Phone Bill (Premium SMS/Carrier Billing)

        2. To enable or disable phone bill payment for all countries, toggle-click Check All (Apply Phone Bill).

        3. For each distribution country in which to make phone bill payment available:
          1. Display individual countries by clicking their [Geographical area banner].
            Note: Global A contains countries in multiple geographical areas. The Global A local price applies to all of its listed countries.

          2. Checkmark the country's Apply Phone Bill.
          3. If either the new local phone bill price or its equivalent USD price is not suitable, select the best phone bill price.Note: This default phone bill price is the closest (above, equal, or below) to the default local price.
             
      2. Review and possibly change default local prices
        1. Review the local prices displayed for the countries your item's app is being distributed to.
        2. If the default local price is not good, enter a better price.
          Note: If your new price is below the country minimum, the price will be changed to the minimum. Either accept the minimum price or enter a higher price.
           
  4. Complete the registration of the in-app item:
    1. Ensure that the item ID, item Type, and standard price entries are correct.
      Caution: These entries cannot be changed after saving the in-app item.
    2. Ensure that each distribution country has a good local price.
      Each local price will only be in effect after your app and the in-app item are validated for distribution.
       
    3. Click Save.
      Note: You can complete registering in-app item information in one or more sessions before validation submission.
